Next week, I step into a quick role in a new play at the West End Theatre called "Love Dr. Mueller," about Cookie Mueller, who was a force of nature who blazed a trendsetting trail through the 60s, 70s, and 80s, only to have her life cut short by AIDS. Featuring hysterical cameos from such characters as Mink Stole, Divine, and John Waters, Love Dr. Mueller is a hysterical romp through the history of American sleaze as well as an inspirational story of a woman who never lived by the rules. I'm loving it. You will, too. Come check it out:

So excited to welcome some of the faculty members from Queens P.S. 134 to the show this week. I had the pleasure of doing standup for them at their annual teachers' summer party, and they're a hoot of a group. (I think I may have taken my shirt off in the middle of one joke. Or two. Well, maybe it was a running joke that I -- their surprise entertainment -- was not, in fact, a stripper.)

What a fun night! Just did (uh, well...last week) standup at a benefit for the Zootopia Theatre Company, run by the newly engaged and amazing Britney Burgess and Matthew J. Nichols. "Behind The Lyrics" Wins an Emmy

August 2007. Los Angeles. During my time out west, I worked as a segment producer and story editor on a project called "Behind the Lyrics." Created by longtime AMC producer A.J. Lewis and originally developed as a TV pilot, the music rock-doc about aspiring singer/songwriter Shawn Pander aired on KHIZ-TV in Southern California, making it eligible for a Los Angeles Area Emmy Award. On Aug 26, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded "Behind the Lyrics" an Emmy Award in the category Arts and Culture/History.
